Hey Guys!
I 've been buying points for an Elk hunt in Wyoming next year. I have decided to take the .280 Browning SS Stalker as my main rifle and my .270 Mtn rifle as a back up.

I already have 140gr Accubonds shooting 0.250" groups at 100yds with the .270 Win...

I am planning on working up a 150 or 160gr recipe for the .280.

Any suggestions from my experienced collegues...JD?...anyone? I will be driving down to Green Bay where I can get some reloading supplies soon...would appreciate any suggestions on loads, bullets or pet powders. Never loaded anything but 140s in my .280 before...

As usual you're on the ball. I would add the AB's as a viable option.

54.5gr of IMR4831 is a very accurate load in my .280. I like 57gr of IMR7828 a bit better as accuracy is the same w/ almost 100fps more vel. This is my backup rifle for elk.

With all due respect I would never ever use a Sierra on big game again. Especially a Gameking on elk, no less.

Sierra applied for a patent and they are going to get it.

The patent is for Jacket core separation!
