I'm looking for load recommendations for 160 gr Sierra Gamekings for my 280 Rem with IMR-4350, I'm starting with 48.5 gr and another load with 49.5 gr. I ran a couple loads with IMR-4831 last year with less than mediocre results.

My go to load in the 280 Remington with a 160 gr PT was 54.0 grs IMR4831, shot .400".
I would also take a look at RL 19 and RL 22.

We tried H 4350 and H 4831sc in my friends 280 Rem, H 4350 was slightly better in his gun so we went with it. We never did try IMR 4350 though so can't help you there.

IMR-4831 is the goto powder for 140 gr bullets in this rifle, I have the other powders mentioned and will give em a try as time allows. I have the hunting loads made up I'll be using.

Try, 58.0 grains of IMR 7828 SSC with Fed 215 MM Primer. Should get you to 2900 fps with no pressure issues in the .280, with 160 gr bullet.

Another vote for IMR7828 with 160 gr. I don't have the load date in front of me but I believe my best load is 59gr IMR7828 with a 160gr AccuBond. No pressure signs in my rifle but I know it is a couple grains over max load in the most recent Nosler manual. I think 59.5gr was max two manuals ago.

I don't have any IMR-7828 on hand, but I know someone I can get some from. I did load up 5 rounds with 50.5 gr of IMR-4350 to start with. It's 1 gr under the max load in the Sierra manual.

I seem to get better groups using IMR-4831 verses 4350. I have not tried 7828 but I have a few cans of 7828SSC that I will play with this year.

+1 on the IMR7828 with 160gr bullets. I shot the 4350's for years just because they worked. I then went to IMR4831 with the 140's and 7828 with 150's and heavier. RL19 and RL22 are worth a try if you have some.

With the 160gn Partition I used 58gn of RL-19 and got an average MV of 2975fps from a FN bolt action. There were no signs of overpressure, but I settled on 56gn as the "go to" load if I'm using the Partition.
