I finally got around to developing a good load for my Nosler Trophy Grade rifle.
I got it last year and ran the factory 140 AB load.
One hole 100 yard groups and 2"'at 500
Couldn't ask for more and game performance was flawess.
I played with IMR 4350 and had the velocity of 3150 but not the group size I knew the gun is capable of.
I duplicated the factory ammo COAL of 3.26" and neck sized the Nosler brass and loaded with Federal match primers.
I started at 58g of IMR 4831 working up in .2 grain increments.
59g it was producing one hole (not one ragged hole) groups at 100 yards.
I sighted in at 1.6" high at 100 which gave me a 250 yard zero.
Went hunting and nailed a nice buck the next day.
I haven't ran it over a chrono yet but it should be in the 31-3150 range.
I have several other suitable powders to try but I think I am done!
I have some 120 hunting BTs and 160 ABs to work on but I know what I am hinting with the next few weeks!
