Here is some more of Jeff's shooting at a 1000 yards. I will let him explain it, but what he says is you get three shots at three targets at 1000. He did this with his 6.5-284. Pretty impressive stuff. Scotty

Certainly tantalising intro. It looks as if Jeff is dialed in with that 6.5-.284.

Nicely done, congratulations on some fantastic shooting.

Man if I could shoot that far I would take my vehicle to look at the targets
That is very impressive! That is another one of those calibers that I would like to own. As the saying goes so many calibers so little time

Blessings,
Dan

Thanks guys, here is what the deal is I thought of this one day when I was setting out targets. The rule was you have no spotting shot, simply dial up you your 1000 yard dope correct for wind and shoot. One shot per target if you miss your done shooting. I was glad to have some buddies over for witnesses. Wind was minimal that day that's probably why I was able to do it. I had the same condition for all three shots and fired as fast as I could yes I shot the big one first  a buddy of mine guy on the right did two out of three right after but missed the little one 3"x6". Fun stuff now I have to think of a new challenge. That was 51.5g H4831sc lapua brass 140g amax @2950 federal gold medal primer.

The size of those targets makes it truly challenging. From LR prone competition, I know how hard it is to do well at 1000 yards, even on a two MOA 10-ring NRA target, let alone some small chunks of steel...

Excellent marksmanship!

Guy

Jeff,

Nice shooting at those small targets!
Using the 6.5-284 with a 140 gr A-Max at 2950, what MOA are you dialing for 1k?

Awesome shooting Jeff! That is really a cool competition and man, what a great load you have for that 6.5! Scotty

Jeff -
I remember putting the "60" on a tri-pod with the old T&E mechanism and working the rounds into some pretty small targets, but that is amazing to me...really nice shooting.

I did that also but I remember firinig the clapped out sixty we had about twenty five rounds at a time and then clearing a jam. There is a guy here in town with a original issue 3 pin M-60 he stole from an estate sale he got that a original M-16 a 1934 tommy gun and a 45acp mac-10or 11 not sure with a suppressor all class 3 for 25000 bucks. Neat stuff.
