.30-06 150 grain Accubond on Elk

They will be fine to use. Your 165 loads will be great. For the little velocity difference to go 150, I would stay 165's.

For me, I use 180gr in my 300WM and 140's in my 270WSM, 225g in my 338-06AI, 90gr in my 243....the elk, moose, deer, bears don't know the difference. You do your part on the shot placement and the bullet will do the rest. For me, I prefer the heavier bullet in my 300WM. If I wanted a lighter bullet, I would choose a different/smaller caliber to hunt with. Same reason I went with 225gr in my 338-06AI, I want a larger bullet when I got this rifle built....if I was building it to shoot 180's, I would of just kept the 300WM and had more space in my gun safe.

Its like me thinking to use the 190 LRAB's over the 180's right now in my 300WM....why. I get great groups and velocity with my reloads and the 180's have proven themselves numerous times. MAybe some day when I run out of my supply of 180gr AB's but that wont be for quite awhile, and now I just cant find the time to anymore load development in any of my rifles, so I will stick to what works.

Hey FJ, if you are ever in need of 165ABs or 150ABs, send me a PM, I have lots of 2nds in those 2 bullets, my -06 loves the 180AB/ET bullets so I do not have a rifle to load these bullets for since I sold my 308 Win. Bonus, we live in the same city as well.
