wondering what you all use in your 06 for 180 bullets for powder.
brass is Winchester, WLR primers, Hornady 180 SST & 180 SP Interbond bullets.
Books all show IMR 4350 as most accurate. 55gr at 2758
Nosler #6 has AA3100 52 gr at 2580..
but I think thats a bit slow. What say U

I worked up a load for my 06 and 180AB using H414. I don't recall the actual amount of H414, but the results were awesome.

56 grains of IMR4350, is getting me about 2800 FPS. Accuracy is 1 moa(would be better if I could shoot better) This is from a quick load recipe.
As usual, the "work up to it " disclaimer applies!

H4350 is an excellent choice, and you should have no problem seeing at least 2700 fps with a 180 from the good old .30-06 cartridge!

I've also had good results with the 180 and heavier bullets, using Reloader 22, and essentially treating the .30-06 like a magnum. Heavy bullet + lots of slow burning powder = excellent results!

180gr bullet in a 30-06 likes IMR4350, H4831sc and H4350 also H414 can surprise you on occasion.

IMR 4350 or RL19 best in mine. Can't get enough rl22 or 4831 in the
case to get much velocity and they also give poor accuracy.

I tried load up some 180ETs in my 06 using RL-22. The mid-load (max for ET) was so compressed, I had a hell-of-a time getting the bullets to seat at the depth I wanted (3.39"). Then I found while trying to shoot them that they had backed out. One to the point I couldn't close the bolt.

Just saying this so anyone wanting to use the 180ET and RL-22 in a 30-06 are fore warned. This issue will be worse if you try to seat even deeper than I did.

Thanks for the info. For now I've loaded about 12 rounds with IMR 4350
to see how they perform. Weather here in MD has been cold-- mid 20's
during daytime with winds 10-30 mph--not good shooting weather.
maybe Sat or sunday here.... Maybe take the Harley out instead :)

I am a big fan of IMR-4350 and RL-19 as general purpose powders in the 30,06.
But With 180 grain bullets , I have had very good results with RL-22.
I recomend you give RL-22 a try , but only if your IMR-4350 loads don't plese you.

IMR4350 and RL22 are good candidates for the 180 grainers in 30-06. My Browning BBR likes 60 grains RL22 whereas my friends Interarms likes 54.5 IMR4350....both shooting 180 Accubonds.

+1 for IMR 4350 and RL 22.

Thought I might just weigh in...
I use IMR 4831 in my O6 with both the 165 and 180 grain AB and BT. My gun loves this slow buring powder at 57 grains.
