.30 150 Ballistic Silver Tip for Eland?

Having been to Africa and laid eyes on an Eland, A 150 Bt would not have been in my top five choices. Those things are huge! With that said, I ran the 140 BT in my 280 AI for a while, and had no trouble taking elk with it. I guess it just confirms that it's all about shot placement. I still think that I would have wanted a bit tougher bullet for a critter that large.

Yes I agree about pushing it in Wy with the orange. I always wear a orange(sometimes camo-orange) hat when hunting Wy. I have only hunted pronghorns there but have spoke to the game warden doing his job almost every time. I do not think I would push it like they did. Just not worth it.

Camo orange is legal. A hat is for sure considered a garment and fits the regs - but you have to wear it! I even put a knit orange cap over the crown on a cowboy hat. The G&F does their job well. I wouldn't be surprised if they already know about this show.

I don't think necessarily that being on a TV show makes a person an expert or even knowledgeable. Take the people on "The View" for instance...

Bingo! Good point.

IMHO, that is not the right bullet to be using on a 2000 lb Eland.

+1...That's a call for either a nosler Partition/swift a-frame bullet, I wouldn't step foot outside of camp shooting a BT in any caliber on a 2000# animal. Ammo/bullets are the cheapest part of any hunt, premium bullets only :)
