300 PRC Load Development

Happy Friday. Recently purchased my 1st 300 PRC rifle and have been working on some long range loads. Was able to find three pounds of H1000 out our local Cabela's, so I am using that. Worked up to 78 grains with a 212 ELD-X (seated .025" off lands), and found a good node. Velocity is at 2925 fps, and my Leupold CDS should be here tomorrow. Looking forward to stretching it out...rifle is a Bergara Wilderness HMR

I should imagine that H1000 would be a great propellant for that cartridge. It certainly appears to have worked well in the accuracy department.

Great shooting! You can probably also look forward to that group tightening up a bit after putting some rounds down the bore. Shilen certainly instructed Bergara well on how to build accurate barrels.

Happy Monday everyone. Got load development done and stretched it out 1000 this morning. Took me five shots to get windage correct...but hit the milk jug at 1000 yards. Load is 2925 fps with 212 ELD-X bullets. I have it on video...does anyone know if we can post videos here to share?

nice shooting .

a couple of the guys I shoot Long range with shoot the 300 PRC . one rifle is a Ruger RPR , the other two are Bergara rifles . I'm not sure what the RPR is shooting , it's definitely hand loads . the two Bergara rifles are shooting factory ammo . this cartridge does well at distance . the RPR is no slouch on the 2000 yard gong .

Gavin shot a mule deer, at about 70 yards I think... On his property with the 212 ELD-X from his 20+ pound 300 PRC... It was the only rifle handy when he saw the buck... That worked.
