So far me and my latest project a Remington 700 in 300 RUM don't seem to be getting along. I'm looking for some accurate load suggestions to try in 180 or 200 grain bullets.

I've been in the same boat... not getting what I want for accuracy out of my .300RUM, but here's what's worked best so far.
91,5gr RL25 & 180gr B-tips.
Best of the best has been 91.5gr N-165 & 190gr SMK's All loads with Federal 215 primers. All groups have been prety much one inch or slighly more at 100 yards.
H-1000 & Retumbo gave ok results... bullets have been seated to the magazine max length.

Good luck and let us know when you find something.

Do a search. I know for a fact that there's a ton of info on 300RUM loads. I have personnally posted my laods as well. I settled on 95gn of Retumbo to propel a 200gn AB (Avg 3137fps). I also worked up a 180AB load as well, but I don't have that load data with me at work.

I recently picked-up a .300RUM in a 700 Rem. First loads were with RL25, 92 gr. About 0.75" at 100 yds was it. Yesterday I got some RL 22 and Retumbo powders and some A-frame 180 gr. bullets, so my next trip to the range will try them out, with the 180 NP. Been usin' F215 primers so far, might try something different along the way.

180 gr work up to 99 gr retumbo.

200 gr 92 gr rl25 or 95 gr retumbo. Work up sloooooow!

My Buddy has a .300 RUMin 700 Sendaro, and it seems a little fussy. We've actually had our best luck with the Fed 215 primers, about 110gr of WCC 872 (surplus 20mm powder) and the 200gr AccuBond. Velocities were around 3200. Our best accuracy was using a caseful of IMR 5010. I don't remember the exact charge, but commercial data is avaliable for 5010. Velocities were on the low side, but consistancy was excellent. P.S. when using surplus powders, work up again with each new lot.

I have Remington 700 LSS and my hunting load for moose is:
1. Nosler AccuBond 200grain
2. AA3100 - 86grain
3. Case Remington - uniformed and trimmed
4. Primer Federal 215
5. OAL 3.677" ( to ogive - 3.048")

I have Zeiss Conquest 3-9x40 scope on it.
My groups are well under sub MOA for 100yr.
Usually average between 0.5-0.75MOA - 3 shots

Welcome to the forum.
Nice rifle, I have 2 of them.

You have a good load there, do you know what your MV is?

JD338, Thanks
yep, I have forgotten the velocity, have I, sorry guys.
I keep it simple at 3000fps.
This load is responsible for two moose.
One taken at 330yr, lucky off hand shot and
second at 500yr using ATV as a rest. Angle was around 30 degree,
and I have missed first, moose even didn't move, and second shot
drop him dead.

I like .300RUM, IMO is a great long range caliber, especially with heavier bullets like 200 or 220grain.

Greetings,

Peter
