Does anyone have any experience with loading a 150gr Partition in a 300 Weatherby? My particular rifle is a standard Weatherby SubMoa. Thanks for any help you may offer.

You're not gonna find that many user of 150's here for 300 Bee. Is this gonna be your Varmint load? :?

I have an early wby ultralight that gave me fits till I started seating the bullets quite deep in relation to the clip length. It stil is fussy with 180 class bullets. A little playing one day and I found that 87-88 grains I7828 was cranking some 150's at right around 3500 in rem brass. It shot nosler solid bases, tsx's, and nosler e tips very well. I certainly wouldn't be afraid to hunt anything with the etip or tsx at those speeds and trajectory would be pretty darn good. (especialy the e tip with it's high bc)!

My only thought is using a 150 gr bullet at 3400-3500 fps, there is going to be a lot of blood shot meat! I would say a 165 gr PT would be good and a 180 gr PT or AB would be better yet. Higher BC's will offer you better down range performance with less blood shot meat for the freezer.
Just my thoughts..... :)

I agree with the lead bullet bloodshot meat scenario but I've shot alot of stuff with monolithics at high speed and there is very very little bloodshot meat...even in comparison with lead bullets at much slower speed.

Man, the Etip, Barnes or GMX at 3400 would be a laser beam! I imagine there wouldn't be a deer in a few counties that wouldn't be worried. Scotty

To me it just seems if you are going to be using a 300wby you should be loading at least a 168gr if not a 180gr bullet. If you wanted to hunt with a 150gr 30cal why not just use a 30-06 and have far less recoil and powder use. The 300wby really shines with a 180gr bullet and RL22, H1000 or IMR7828. I would use the 180 accubonds or even the 168/180 etips! Good luck!

Well if we play that game fine.

200 gr Accubonds at 3100 fps with 7828, rl 25 or retumbo.

Dispute that combo's positives!

Alas being a huge masochist......I like recoil! :p

I can't wait to get my 300WBY. I think some 200gr Accubonds or PT's at 3000+ should be a great load. I should have my hands on the rifle this weekend. I have a ton of brass and dies (thanks to Woodycreek). I have always wanted a 300WBY but settled on a 300 Win. Now I have both! Scotty
