Anyone have any pet loads they'd like to share? Been looking at recipes and identifying which powders will fit under the 200 gr AB. I'd love to load H4831 but 68 grains Nosler recommends requires much crunching to get a bullet seated. Other ideas?

Thanks.

I really, really tried to make this bullet work in my old 300WSM and it was just never consistently accurate. Speeds were excellent with RL19 but I couldn't get the accuracy on a recurring basis. I think RL19, H4831SC, RL17, and maybe H4350 would all be in the right spot. Ramshot Hunter looks pretty good as well.

I tried 200 grainers in my Kimber Montana and ran into the same accuracy problems as scotty. I have had great luck with the 180's which gives me the impression that the 200's might be a bit long for the twist. I have read in a number of articles that it is best to stick with 180's or less for best accuracy. The 200's also cut down on powder space as they seat fairly deep in the case.

Ditto here with the 200 gr AB and a Tikka T3. Maxed out with 62.0 gr of H4350 and 2700 fps. Best groups were 1.24 @ 100 yards. The same rifle groups 180 ABs 0.63 at 100 yards @ 2950 fps.

I'm running mine right at 2800 fps with IMR 4350 in my Kimber Classic and accuracy is amazing. I've shot several 200 yard groups barely over an inch. I'm sure RL 19 would give some more velocity but I'm pretty happy with what it's doing.

Yeah, I wouldn't complain a bit with that sorta accuracy either. If I could have gotten the AB's to work, I would have probably kept the rifle.

Sorry for the delay but have been out of town since last week. I need to sleep in my own bed..........

sj - thanks for running QL.

I'm inclined to stop trying to make them shoot and stick with the Partitions.

Thanks fellas

I had some real good results with the 200 PT's and should've stuck with them myself. Live and learn.

Interesting post. I gave up trying to get either of the 300 WSMs I've owned to shoot the 200 grain AB. Either will shoot 200 grain Sierra GKs or 200 grain Partitions into bug holes. That'll do for this cowboy.
