Hi Guys,
Just finished a range session trying to get my 300wm to a place I am happy with. I was playing with the Sierra 175 Tipped Matchking and settled on 77 grains of H4831/AR2213 as we know it. 26 inch barrel, and was delivering an honest 3/4 inch group. (Actually be interested in QL data for that too). This was going to be my bench mark as to whether I would persist with the 300 or send it down the road, I just couldn't get it to shoot with the 178 eldm. about an inch was all it could do.
Just before I walked out the door, I thought, load 5 180 grain Nosler BT's behind 70 grains of H4350/AR2209 and see what that does. Well that out shot the sierra matchking, not by much, but the group was more round and looked better if that makes sense. (The one to the left was a flinch as the guy beside me shot just before the trigger broke on my rifle) Now I am wondering whether I should work around this load and see what it will do or whether that is great and just settle on it. The barrel was super hot at the end of string too as I wanted to pack up before the cease fire. I suspect there is a lot of promise with this projectile in this rifle.
Life a reloader right, always searching ;-) So if someone could please indulge a fellow shooter with some QL data, that would be great.
Thanks in advance.
