I have found that I am getting 1" - 6 shot groups at 100yds with 41.8grs IMR8208XBR with 165gr Nosler Parts in my old .308 BLR. After 2.5yrs of many powder load trials I have finally found this old girls sweet load. I see some very great looking targets in this thread. Great shooting guys.

Great post and some awesome groups! I recently picked up my first .308 and this thread is very encouraging. I haven't had the chance to work with it much as of yet but after reading this and looking at the groups i'm ready to start. The only bullet I've tried so far is the Nosler 125gr BT and varget and it printed around an 1" but i think it will do better with a little tweeking. I have some Sierra 150gr ph's and I want to pick up some 165 and 168's to try as well.

One inch six-shot groups? That is very fine shooting out of your BLR. Nothing wrong with that. That should handle those elk down in your AO.

Best groups my load it is 168 BT with 45 gr of Varget, for some reason I can get 165 AB to shoot as good as my 168 BT,
Any advice for good load 165 AB ?

As soon as I can I will post a pic of the last range day 6 shots prone no rests. I am very impressed and so glad to find a great recipe for the old BLR.

You are off to a fine start. That is an enviable group. Perhaps you can improve on it, but it will be a great load in the field no matter how you cut it. Congratulations.
