looking for load data for the 308WIN. Will be for my sister.Bought a SAVAGE MOD11 youth package. Looking 130TTSX or 125BT to keep recoil down. I currently have RL15,RL17,IMR4064.

R15 might work, but I know H4895 and Varget will work for you. You can load down at 30/30 levels with H4895 and load it up pretty heavily also. I use Varget for everything from 125-165 for my wifes 308. Scotty

I personally use 46 grs IMR 4895 with the 125 ballistic tip in my 308 for deer hunting. It is very accurate and a real killer. From my 21 1/2" barrel I am getting 3000 fps. This load has proved to be very accurate in a number of different 308 rifles. I have made converts out of a lot of people that were shooting deer with heavier 150 to 165 gr bullets and having to trail up a good shot placement deer that ran off 50 to 100 yards. I can't count how many deer I have shot with the 125 BT clean out to 300 yards and I have never had a single deer take a step after taking this bullet through the front shoulders. I also use this bullet in my custom 30X47 HBR chambered rifle with 42 grs IMR 4895 at 2850 fps with the same results as the 308. The 125 does has less felt recoil than the 150 in my rifle.

Been using 49 grains of varget with 125 nos BT best whitetail medicine I have found yet .Like 1shot said it drops deer like a bolt of lightening hitting them .
