Starting with the chrono issue:

The sun was behind the mountain, dusk was closing in. Chrono would not pick up shots from the hornet....... but it picked up the 325 just fine??????? must be the extra 165 grains????

also, the chrony was reading in metric instead of fps.... I got it to switch over after two shots...... 1st shot read 883, 2nd shot read 879. kicked it a few times, then got 2889 and 2883.
now I dont trust it at all....... it's 13 years old, I guess it's served it's purpose......

anyway, 65gr RL17, w/200 gr PT. the first two touching, I pulled the third by about 12" :oops: I knew it before it even went off!!! I didn't feel real good about the fourth, but it was right in there!!!!!

Where you shooting in the morning hours? If so the angel of the sun will throw off a chrony, that is why I put up a screen to block the early morning rays from the sun, if you don't you will get slower readings.

8pm, no direct sunlight in the valley I shoot in, yet still plenty of ambient light. The chrono typically works extremely well in these conditions.

It that was the conditions then I would get an other one, a Chrony does not cost that much and it will give you peace of mind. :)

...883x3.28=2896
...879x3.28=2883

...looks pretty much on track w/ what I'm getting w/ .325 WSM/ 200gr. NAB/ RL-17...
