Me too, Scotty, I just never got past all the physical limitations to get it done with that rifle. I am glad that it finally is doing its thing, even with someone else. The kid that owned it before me never shot it.

Not to stray off topic, but the picture with the 300 RUM case loaded with that 200gr AccuBond just looks like a deadly combo. Time to buy a box and see how they do in mine. Maybe have a new brown bear load.

That is one heck of a combo in my 300 RUMs. Works great in the Sendero, but the recoil is a bit much in the lightweight M70.

No belt, no rounded shoulder & cheaper brass

I love the belt, and love the double radius shoulder, so what is you point? You don't assume the belt was put on belted magnums for strength did you and you have some info that the double radius is flawed and both the belt and double radius cause the cartridge to not be accurate? Once again what is your point?

This is just me and I like the 340 a lot, but I was going to do the 338/375 build just because I liked the 340 so much and wanted to have the ballistics of a 340 in a standard length M70 action. I don't mind the belt nor the radiaused shoulder. But not having to deal with them was okay my me as well. They are identical in case capacity and if you use a 3.6" mag box for the 338/375 you can seat the 250's out quite away. Really lets it run.

My wife got me a M70 Alaskan so it squashed my plans of doing the 338/375 as I like the Winchester as is, and again, the belt doesn't bother me and with a 25" barrel, my 338 will get everything done i want done. Just my thoughts on the project.

Same here on the 338-375 build. Just wanted to do something different on a standard length action. Never intended it to best any of the big boomers even if it does get into 340 speeds.
