338/375R build starts today!!!!

Getting everything packed up to take to the gunsmith today. Hoping to get most of the metal work done today. I'll bed the stock this week then take ot back for the stock webbing and eventually, cera coating. My scope should be back from Leupold next week with some target turrets as well.

I have a bunch of test/break in loads made up already. Hopefully I can get to the range this week as well.

I just stepped off the porch and touched it off!!! Sooooooo happy! Can't wait for my scope to get back. Rifle only weighs in at 8lbsa even.

I really want to build one on an M70, but I seem to be having a hard time finding a donor (well, when I was looking). Maybe I should just pick up a 700 with a mag bolt face...

Looks like a cool rig! Does Blagg have a reamer, or is it yours?

That is a better start than some have had. I believe it counts for more incentive than a die or a piece of brass. :grin:

Yes Darrin has the reamer. I built mine on a 300 Rum, but the reamer is set up so you can reach the lands in a M70 with a 225AB. I figured if nosler is going to come out with a .338 ABLR I will have lots of room in the mag and still be able to reach the lands with it. The neck on the reamer is .004" over my loaded ammo, so it is a little tight for a hunting gun I think. But it should help with case life if I don't push it to hard.
