I use Retumbo with the 250 gr AB in my 338 RUM. MV is 3000 fps and accuracy is excellent.
Shot this .515" group at 200 yds. Might want to give Retumbo a try.

Man that's a good group.

I have a little bit of Retumbo............but I have more H1000.

Powder is hard to get up here in Fairbanks and Fed 215GM primers also

I heard from many Retumbo is the powder for the 338 RUM

My AR 30 weights about 15 lbs but i plan on using it on my ATV while moose hunting.

I guess you could call it a mobile shooting platform :)

Mine old 338 Lapua really like RL-25 and N560 with the nod going to N560 for slightly better speed and accuracy.

I have not seen RL 25 or any N powder on the shelf here in 2 years

G'Day Fella's,

Alaska, here is the kinda accuracy I'm presently getting from my .338 Lap Mag (Rem 700 MLR) rifle.

Initially, this rifle would only shoot 1 1/2" to 2" 100 meter 5 shot groups!
So I removed the Rem factory M/Brake and recrowned the muzzle. No difference!
So I prepared and then epoxy bedded the action and Hey Presto, see above!!!

This is with Lapua Cases, CCI 250Mag Primers, ADI AR-2217 Powder (H-1000) and http://www.woodleighbullets.com.au 250grn Protected Point (PP) hunting bullets.
This 5 shot group, includes the first shot out of a very clean barrel (very left bullet hole), followed by the next four!

Since this group was shot, I have fitted a new Nightforce scope (in lapped rings)to it but would still like to lighten the factory trigger down a bit to maybe 2 to 2 1/2 pound!

Homers a Happy Chappy!!!

Doh!

The Lapua is a fine calibre and Homer you definitely have yours dialed right in ! My God son shot one for a number of years shooting 300gr bergers and H-1000 powder. I am not sure what the powder charge was but could find out if any Lapua guys are interested. I know that he had a MOA of .5 or better.

Blessings,
Dan

Spoil yourself and buy a Jewell trigger for that Remington.
