I loaded up some 250 gr AB's in my M700 LSS 338 RUM and headed out to the range.
I shot two sub MOA groups. The first group went .757" c/c with the first two touching, .351" c/c. The second group went .479" c/c.
I also shot and recovered two of the 250 gr AB's from water jugs at 100 yds. Both bullets were recovered in the 6th jug, #1 opened up to .667" and weighed 143.8 grs (57.5%) and #2 measured .693" and weighed 145.3 grs (58.1%).
This is going to be a great bullet for the 338 cal fans.

Looks to me that you are done with finding an accurate load with the 250 AB. Nice shooting and great report as per normal.

.479"

Pop - Is that your groundhog rifle?

I think your confused...... :? POP didn't start this post. May I suggest you reread the initial post. :p

Yup...what he said......

My varmint/antelope gun (Savage 25-06 Tactical) did .055' (not a typo) with 100 gr BT's at 3400 fps!

But JD's 338 ultra at 1/2" is impressive for such a big gun!!

POP, I thought your varmint/antelope gun was the 416??????

Thanks for your comments fellas. I'm very pleased with my initial results.
I'll be shooting 300 yds next weekend and will post target and recovered bullets.

Well, I'll be a little closer to Cheyenne in 18 months when I retire and move back to Idaho Falls. I'm at Vandenberg now.

JD,
Phenominal !!!!
#1, Very impressive shooting....
#2 Good job on Noslers manufacturing....I'd call that pretty consistent results with the water jugs.

I spoke with a DOW official over the weekend @ Trappers Lake... He stated they have been seeing a lot of new calf elk...... appeared they were supprised to see that after the bad winter we had.

You'll have to bring that .338RUM back out here and give her another try...

Hey, you didn't say where you got the 250's... Can I have some?

I think maybe JD got the "Good Ol' Boy" hook up from Nosler, if so, good for him. :)

Graf and Sons has a few boxes left.

Where did you get load info for your ultra & 250's? I just bought some and want to try them but cant find any info to load for them. I'd rather not blow my rifle up just guessing at it!
