338 WM & IMR 4350

I tried it. I think it was a grain under the book max, 69 gr maybe. I can't remember my best load, but my gun didn't really care for the 225 AB. It was right around 2800 fps. It would shoot a few different loads great once, but I could never get them to do it again. I know that it is one of the more recommended powders for that combination. I really like the 225 AB, but sometimes my rifles and I don't like the same thing.

I settled for the 200 ET doing 3010 with some Hunter. If you have hunter is stock, give it a shot with the 225 AB as well. It was one of the ones that showed the most promise in mine.

I've never tried 4350 with the 225's. It worked well with the 210's. I'd think 4350 would be a good one with 225's though. Always used RL19 or 22 with heavier than 200 grain bullets.

I used the 225 gr Partitions in my .340 all of the time. I also used them in my .338 WM Browning Safari for years with IMR 4350. I believe that the load was around 71.0 grains but work up to that with caution.

I am using this combo for moose in a few days.
Nosler brass
Fed 215M primers
72g IMR 4350
225g AB
I am getting about 2830 fps out of a stock Ruger Hawkeye 24" barrel.

That sounds like a great load right there. That's one of those 338 Win Mag do anything sorta loads...

Well, the individual I'm doing this for got OK results from 71gn of IMR 4350. I set them up using Fed 215M, Win brass and a COL of 3.360. The 71gn gave a little more than 1 MOA. I'm going to load up some 72gn for him to try and go from there.
