I wanted to raise my zero a little with the old 348 Winchester. I cranked up the old peep a few notches and fired the first group, using a 6 O'Clock hold. I was shooting at 92 yards off my knees from the sitting position.

Raised the rear sight up a little more and shot the upper three..

Then, just for grins, I centered the sights on the 45-70 target, dead center. It seems good to me!

I just love the 348 Winchester. Awesome cartridge and rifle.

Good shooting.
Got to love those older cartridges.
Darn good use of empty stick on sheets too.

Those will do. That is good for about anything you might want to hunt in NA, Scotty. Fine riflery with a classic cartridge and rifle.

Scotty,
Can you hear that target?...................It's saying take me to BC and I'll kill a moose for ya!

Man, I was wondering if you all would notice them! They work well and for some reason I saved the emptied sheets from my shooters bag. They work well with the iron sighted rifles.

Those Browning 71's are some great rifles. I love to shoot mine alot. You wouldn't think the metal butt plated stock would be as comfortable to shoot, but it is very nice actually. It's pretty wide and the rifle fits very well.

Scott, yeah, you aren't kidding. That rifle would be a pleasure to carry into moose country. I still wanna get it out to 200 yards and confirm my drops, but I think it'll get there fine. Probably just need to tune up my shooting some.

Nice shooting Scotty as usual, anxious to hear about the 348 this Deer season and how she performs. 8)

That is a gun I would love to have just for kicks let me tell you! A model 71 would look good hanging over the fireplace!

Especially good if a monster elk, moose or bison skull was just above the .348 Win rifle... :)
