35 whelen suggestions

You're on the right track. Accuracy is there, and velocity can be found. I'd likely look at a slightly faster powder (maybe A2520, IMR4064 or something with a similar burn rate), maintaining similar OAL.

Hi dlove, on the 200gr. ABs what is your OAL and the speed it you do not mine me asking :)

Blessings,
Dan

the speed is listed with the pics. 2655 with 60.2 and 2670 with 60.5. OAL tip to tip on these was 3.360.

I have shot these with W748, varget, 8208 xbr, and RL15. 8208 has been the fastest powder at 2795 but groups were terrible. however, I shot the 8208 and varget loads with hornady brass. in my last few range trips I have figured out that RP brass gives me much better groups. I'll retest some varget and 8208 rounds with RP brass soon.

I will shoot the pictured loads again and try a 60.7. RL15 has been by far the most accurate powder in this rifle. that low-right flyer in the second group could have just been the indian and not the arrow.

thanks for the advice. keep it comin. I need it!

Seems like some seating depth changes might bring your groups in some as well. I have found most AB's shoot a little better when given a running start. Just my findings though, it might be worth playing with a little once you find a speed you are happy with. 8208 sounds pretty awesome, I would think you could shrink it up some with a little work.
