Alright, 1 1/2" group but now this thing is cooking for a 20" barrel and a short action and a 225gr bullet using 60.3grs IMR4320 and bullet extracted easy and no over pressure signs.

A quick trip through my Nosler #5 shows a max charge of 59gr of Win748 giving 2700fps through a 22" barrel, and being the most accurate charge in the 748 group. Start charge is listed at 55gr. Might be worth a try to get accuracy down below 1.5". Then again, that works for the purpose, doesn't it?

I got a 1/2" group using 60grs of WW748 but only and average of 2626fps in my rifle.

Roger that. I remembered after I posted that you had tried out 748 earlier. Sorry for the brain pause. It's so hard to keep track of what's being loaded on my own bench, much less yours and everyone else's!!! I think I'd stick with the 4320 load, and play with seating depth, even before bedding and floating. If you can get it down under 1", I wouldn't even bother with bedding and floating, but that's just me.

Yes, you have a point there. I think I will do that and see if I can't get it to tighten up first. If I get it around and inch or a little less then I would leave the rifle alone but these velocities really make this one serious close up to medium shot rifle on anything I want to drop. :)

I haven't looked over the trajectory specifically, but a 225gr moving at 2700 has got to have some pretty significant range, too. One thing's for sure, it won't run out of energy before it runs out of reach!

Yes, 3" high at 100yds and only -5 at 300yds top of shoulders at 310yds good to 390yds 3772 pounds energy at muzzle and 2152 pounds at 300yds.

............................It`s amazing what those shorty barrels can do!!!................Nyuk! Nyuk! Nyuk!....Whoo! Whoo! Whoo!.............

Nice Bullet.
You've already show the rifle can shoot 1/2 MOA, so I wouldn't worry about bedding either.
I started playing with the OAL on a few of my loads last weekend with some very interesting results, so W's advice is seen right on. Worst case scenerio, you already have a load shooting 1/2"

Nice load!
Now its time to go hunting.

Yea you are right the worst case is an 1/2" at 2626fps

Well Big Squeeze it really is moving for a short barreled rifle and JD338 you are right about time to get out there and hunt and might get to kill a hog with it in April if the water goes down.

Tomorrow after my interview at 10:00am I will go to the range on the way home and at about 12:00 noon I will be testing 60.5grs with three different seating depths firing groups of three. It will be around 69 degrees with only a 10mph wind coming from 6 o'clock (hitting me in the back as I shoot). Seating depths will be 2.785", 2.800" and 2.816". Since I had know pressure signs at 60.3grs I am going to try 60.5grs and the above seating depths to compare velocities and accuracy.

The Mod 7 350 Rem Mag out did itself today with the increased load of 60.5grs IMR4320. Great velocities and good accuracy.
