So what's the latest report on the availability of the .358 200 AccuBond?
I may have missed all the latest, just catching up.

Don

Last I heard it was going to be out by the end of this month. I have some on order and hope they will be included when the store gets in their Nosler shipment early next month.

Same here Don! I think with the right powered 2850-2900 should be a really possibility

That is a great addition. Some 358's 350 rem mags are limited in which bullets to use due to overall length.
The 200 AB is a skosh shorter than the 225 Sierra GK which will certainly work with all shorties.

It should help on velocity also and that should let it have at least the same trajectory are there about as my 225gr AccuBond in my Hawkeye, though less energy but also less recoil. There is always some kind of trade off but I predict it will be a popular bullet.

I want to nail a mountain goat this summer or fall with it, at 2850-2900 fps it will open wide and be a hammer 8)

I have been searching around and I can not find anything on Nosler site regarding the 200gr. ABs in the 358cal but with me that is not unusual

Blessings,
Dan

I have some on order. I plan to use them in both my .358 and my 350 RM.

Those AB 200 grers will be great in a REM M600-660 350 REM MAG with its very short mag box ! Cheers RJ

I'm intending to use the 200 AB mainly for WT Deer. I know when my Dad first bought this Whelen he shot all Rem Factory 200 Core Lock Bullets. It literally flattened Deer. I'll keep the 225 AB load I developed for Elk Hunting should I take it to Colorado and my go to load should the 200 not work out.

Scotty,
My thoughts exactly, why not pick up a little more velocity. Heck the 225 is going 2677 fps now. I would be happy with 2800 in the 200 if achievable.

That sounds like a plan to me Don. I know I will pick some of them up as soon as they are available as 2nds. Looking at the speeds attainable with them, I would think they would be a pretty awesome bullet. Although they are a little short, I think they would be just fine for elk too. Hoping Jim or you run some of them into the jugs from your Whelens or 358's. I would imagine they would be very good for goats and such too, like Gerry mentioned. No matter how you slice it, it is still a 200 grain bullet that should be tough...

Scotty,

Can you run Quick Load for the 35 Whelen and the 200 gr AB. I was curious what kind of speed we could get.
With a BC of .365, she should be pretty decent out to 300 yds.

You know the 200gr AB is on the shelves now, but I just don't know if I want to use them in my 358Win. Everything from bobcat, hog, deer and black bear hit the ground when I hit them with the 255gr AccuBond, I mean really just collapsed right where I hit them. Guys I have yet had an animal go anywhere so far when I hit them with the 225gr AccuBond or for that matter the one I shot with the 225gr Sierra SBT. I know shot placement is part of that scenario and so far my shots have not been over 150yds on any game with the 225gr load, but boy has the 225gr AccuBond ever been a perfect load and setup for my 358 win. It moves at over 2500fps at muzzle. Now for the Browning BLR the 200gr would be a perfect fit and setup. Even as temping as the 200gr is and I have been waiting for a long time for this bullet, I am just not sure I want to change what works so well for me at this time. What do you guys think, as at the moment I am leaning towards not fixing what ain't broke. :?: :?: :?:

Bullet,
I agree with you. Initially I was intending to see what the 200 AB would give me, but changed my mind. I'm satisfied with the 225 on my end. The energy it produces makes it a real DRT load regardless of what Game I hunt. I like the 225 BC too, maybe not a real factor, but I like it. Your load goes 2500, mine 2677, I think Scotty's is 2700 something. Just proves from our experiences what ever it touches just dies! Hard to argue with the results and success. Your right, why fix it if it isn't broke.

Hey Don, so glad you commented, I have a tendency to turn over every rock and see what might be under it and just got to look at what is on the other side of the hill. Yes, I believe the 225gr AccuBond traveling from 2300fps to 2800fps from muzzle is one deadly beast indeed. You have an awesome balance between energy, momentum, and bullet construction that in my opinion from my experience through the years is optimum indeed. Kinetic Energy tears things up both bullet and tissue, Momentum due to mass times velocity promotes penetration while construction of the bullet along with its shape allow both Kinetic Energy and Momentum to work in tandem to produce a symphony of results, devastating game.

You guys all know that you will eventually try it ;) the 225 AB is my favorite, but this 200 is just too good not to try especially for deer sized game.
