I just loaded some 225 gr partitions for black bear and elk for my 358win. Its 46.5gr of H4895 win brass and fed 210M primers they clock at 2430fps. How do you think these loads would work for deer? And is this MV still good for proper bullet performance on deer, black bears, and elk/moose ?

I have been using 200 spire points for deer for fast expansion, but wanted a heavier bullet for larger game.

How are the 225gr Accubonds working in the 358 win and on what game?

tjen,

I have used the 225 gr PT in my 35 Whelen at 2600fps on MI WT Deer and Black Bear. I have taken many deer with this load and always got an exit wound about the size of a quarter. I can only remember 2-3 deer that ran. The blood trail was very heavy and very short.
You will have no worries with this bullet in your 358 Win.
The 225 gr BT or AB might be too long for the 358 Win. taking up too much case space to fit the action.

Not enough bullet or gun for deer. You need a more powerful gun to humanly harvest deer!

:)

I killed a nice blacktail buck with that load, a 225-gn PT from a .358. It worked great! I prefer the 200-gn Hornady SP on deer, but that PT will work just fine.
