Finally got around to loading up some ammo. Went with the 260gr AB and 285gr GS for initial testing. H4350 and H4831. Rifle is a XCR with a Burris 3-9x40 Fullfield in Talley lightweight mounts.

That should give a mighty punch on either end. Fascinating to see how it performs for you.

Kool 8) i am looking forward to the results ! Did your eye relief turn out OK with those mounts ? :?: :) RJ

I handload for my buddy George's 375 rum

270 tsx 99 gr 7828. 2950 fps and 1/2" at 100 yds

Even though I only know it on paper, it's an impressive cartridge.

I'd choose bullets with care, the big RUM is capable of slamming them into game at much higher velocity than the .375 H&H, which is what most of the .375 bullets are designed to serve.

Enjoy! Most of those RUM's are accurate shooters!

how does this stack up against the 375 rugger. recoil speed etc.

The 375 ruger is a good cartridge and is loaded to modern pressures so its LOOKs like its a lot better then a 375 H&H BUT when the 375 H&H is loaded to the same pressure theres hardley any difference - 50-100 fps max !
The 375 RUM is MUCH ahead of the 375 ruger and the 375 H&H BUT it has very Violent   recoil too ! The 378 Weatherby is the KING of the 375 cal and its just a FRIGGIN shoulder breaker !

You gotta be TUFF to shoot a 375 RUM or a 378 Weatherby - 375 ruger and 375 H&H not so much different then a 338 Win Mag ! JMHO !

Cheers :) RJ
