So my favorite bullet for 416 bullets maker is no longer in service. Gerard Schultz the owner of GS custom bullets in South Africa has retired. Unfortunately I only have a few of his HV 330 grain 416 bullets left. This led me to a new quest for a possible high ballistic coefficient 416 bullet and I think I found one in The Cutting Edge 325 grain Maximus. Their estimated BC is supposed to be 0.558 which I don't quite believe. Anyway I ordered 50 and the results are pictured below. Now under regular circumstances no one would describe the 416 Weatherby as a long range cartridge, but for the past 20 years on and off I have been killing game at longer ranges with it. Same with my 378, but that is another story. Those who know me know that I'm not right in the head when it comes to that aspect. LOL anyway I thought I'd share my results. This was with reloder 16. A couple of more grains opened up the group and only gave me 25 ft per second per grain so it was not worth it. I will try reloder 26 in the 125 gr range and see what happens this weekend if I get a chance. The picture of me and my young boy was in 2005 I believe and that though fell to a 330 GS custom at 452 yards. My rifle is a Mark V classic Mark II .
