Scored some 240gr JHP 2nds from BIVWAK. Any of you all have any pet loads or experience on game with them? I got 500 of them, so I should be in bullets for awhile. Scotty

Have not used the 240gr but used alot of the 200gr with H-110. Works well on game. I suspect the 240gr ones will work well also.

I loaded 50 rounds using 240 grain Magtech JSP and 23.5 grains of H110 for my DE. Tried it last Sunday and my first shot hit the clay pegion at 33 yards. Not bad after a long absent from handgun shooting. I now realized how much I miss it.

beretzs,

Here is my load for my S&W 629 Classic-

44 Rem Mag
240 gr JHP
H110 23.5 grs
W-W cases
CCI 350 primers

JD338

Thanks for the advice guys. Hopefully I can work in a bench session with it shortly. Scotty

Umm.... Chambering?

For the 44 rem mag, I use rem cases, 23.7 ww 296 and wolf lpm primers. This gets me 1350 in my 8 3/8" 629. The ww powder really burns clean and is very accurate and consistent.

Excellent. It looks like everybody is right around 23.5 with H110 and W296 so I think I should be able to come up with something that works well. Thanks for the info. That seems to be a pretty potent load out of the pistol. Should shake up some lions and maybe a wolf if it gets close enough. Scotty

Excellent. Can't wait to give them a try. Still have about 50 XTP's (240gr) left, so I may try some of them this weekend. Scotty

I use 23.5 w/ W296 for 240 XTP and Noslers. I'm gonna work up some plinking loads with Unique before now and spring just to have fun with minus the big game hunting recoil. There's some good data for this in the Hornady 6th edition.

I have the Hornady 6th Edition also. I was thinking about doing that also. I did load a bunch of Hornady's minimum of 20.7gr (H110) just to practice with some more. I think 23.5 will be an excellent load for me though. They shot pretty great for my first load, and would probably be very accurate if shot off the bench. Scotty
