44 Rem Mag 300 gr JHP

I did a final 50 yard zero with the S&M 629 Classic loaded up with the Nosler 300 gr JHP and 20.0 grs H110. Velocity is just under 1200 fps. The second group, my 6th shot went high so I fired a 7th round. The deer out back are in trouble!

I've killed a lot of stuff with the old .44 Mag. Hard and slow, go. Good looking group.

Here is a picture of the 629 Classic with the new VX-3 2.5-8x32mm scope.
This makes it ideal for low light conditions.

You have to love those S&W revolvers.

I shot my 629 Classic Hunter yesterday to get it ready for doe hunting this weekend. Using Hornady (!) LeveRevolution ammo 225gr FTX that revolver is wickedly accurate. 100 yard zero and I'm good to go to 125 yards. The only caveat is being able to hold it still!
