Well, I know it says 45-70 at the top, but I wanted to post a target of Joel's 300WSM! What a great shooting rifle (for a Remington)!
Brian almost shot a 5 shot group that would have been excellent but one errant round came out. Overall though, that rifle shoots like it is on fire with 180gr AB's and Joel hasn't even cranked up the steam on the cartridge yet. Really fired me up to get my own 300WSM. What an awesome cartridge. All you guys looking for 300WM's, give a good look at the 300WSM. No belt, recoil seems to be a little more mild than my 300's and man, it seems very accurate. RL22 is just a killer powder in it as well. Here is the group

Anyhow, his 264WSM is just flat out AWESOME! It is a truly awesome rifle and again, any of you all looking for a 6.5 FAST rifle, check it out. Speeds are going to be as good or probably better than my 264WM and much better cases to work with.
Now, the 45-70 shooting we did. Brian's 45-70 with a 24" barrel really likes those 300gr PT's. Seems to zing them over 2400 pretty easily and shoots really well. Here is an initial group with them.
Here is probably the best group I have EVER fired out of any rifle. This was Brian's XLR with the 500gr HDY at around 950FPS. What a pleasant load to shoot. I am talking very little recoil and just pleasant and accurate. Thinking I need to try it out in my Guide rifle as well.
Anyhow, I got my 45-70 roughly tuned into the 200 and 300 yard mark with the 350gr Hornady. I truly think the Happy Trigger will tighten up my long range groups alot. It is tough to work with such a heavy trigger at longer ranges. Anyhow, here is my 300 yard target. Not great, but a good start I think. Those are clocking about 2100-2125 out of my rifle. Very good bullet as well. Not quite as awesome as the 300gr PT, but it would be more than enough or any moose or elk walking I think. Now, get on Brian to post his pictures of the 300gr PT, that went through 8 jugs and skipped off the 9th! Scotty
