Here is what the 458 cal 300 gr BST looks like after penetrating 26" of WT deer. MV was 2050 fps and the range was about 70 yds.

Yes, the bullet buldged the hide. The deer was quartering towards me. The bullet entered the on side rib cage, went through the left lung, liver, guts and off side hind quarter where it came to rest under the hide.

I wonder if Nosler is going to make any more of these 300 gr, .458 Partitions? I used mine up and have been wondering what to do since.

I certainly hope they start making them again. I'm now sold on 300gr Partition for anything in North America after Saturdays test.

Same here Charlie. I think they are everything a 45-70 bullet should be. They shed that front core and remain a 45-46 caliber wadcutter that penetrates like crazy! Scotty

And if you slow the impact velocity down to 1950 fps, you will get something like this and get 8 water jugs of penetration.

I think the 300gr Partition did great at 2450fps to retain 239 grains of its weight after going through 8 jugs.
