Well with this week's turkey tag filled and my wife's garden project complete, I was able to go shooting today. I was looking forward to shooting the 30-06 with RL22.

Dad's 25-06-110 AccuBond, 54.5gr of RL19=.613 and .488" groups

Speeds of 3056/3057/3060/3019/3004/3049

This one is done and ready to go hunting. I was hoping for 3100 fps but it didn't happen.

My 25-06-110 AccuBond, IMR4350
49.0gr-2.014" 2931/2969/2948
49.5gr-2.075" 2998/2987/2989
50.0g5-1.300" (2 in 1 out) 3001/3012/2999

I may pushing a little more there to see if I can get more speed????

Sauer 202 30-06 RL22 and 180 Btips

61.5gr .430" 2780/2754/2764
62.0gr 1.069" 2791/2797/2802
62.5gr 1.067" 2800/2789/2814

I am going to reshoot the 61.5gr load and if it repeats, I am calling it done!!

Ruger 30-06 with 180 AccuBond and H4350

56.0gr-1.643" (2 in 1 out) 2603/2605/2597
57.0gr-1.789" (2 in 1 out) 2628/2650/2658
58.0gr-2.468" (2in 1 out) 2703/2713/2692

I don't know what to try next. Fed 210 primers to get more speed or set the bullet deeper to bring them together at the 58.0gr charge??

Re the .25-06, modest speeds, but excellent accuracy.

I'd hunt with that! Happily. (y)

Dad's 25-06 will never shoot past 200 yards with him deer hunting in Wisconsin so I'm not too worried.

Guy is correct; there is nothing wrong with that load for your 25-06. You're good to go with that lesser charge on the Sauer 30-06; that load will hunt.

I agree DrMike, the 180 Btip at 2760 fps should hammer deer.

When you guys are talking about the 25-06, are you talking about mine or my dad's???

That 61.5 gr RL22 180gr load looks pretty good. I don't know if I'd even mess with the H4350 loads if I were getting that kind of accuracy from the RL22. Of course, it'd be nice to have an accurate load with a stable powder like H4350 and there's plenty of time till November.

Talkin' 'bout your dad's 25-06. The 110 AccuBond charged with 54.5gr of RL19 is a good load that will work well for you.

If you have not tried the 210's with the 06 load in question I certainly would to see if a primer chg will tighten the group.

I will try the Fed 210 in the 30-06 and a little more powder in the 25-06 to see if I can get closer to 3100 fps while watching for pressure signs.

Re22 is wonderful In the 2506 too. I4831 if you have some can be very good in both the 25 06 + 30 06 too. If you can't get the 110 AccuBond to shoot for you the 117 Hornady bt is a wonderful bullet.... it shoots great in both my 2506 and my 257 WBY.

Seat the AB deeper before changing a primer WT. My opinion but your pretty close, go .010" at a time. You'll walk it in. I'm talking about both your 25-06 and 30-06.
