There is one guy on Doug's Message Boards who has done the same
with a .45 PacNor barreled Savage MLII. You'll never see him at any
contest, though (most ML associations don't allow the smokeless
Savages). He was using a sized-for-his-barrel .45 Barnes Original.
Even though there's a steep learning curve in doing this, plus a couple
hundred for bullet resizing equipment and four more hundred for the
barrel, it is still HUNDREDS less than the Ultimate. Another advantage
is that you can actually see your target after pulling the trigger, my
reason for getting one in the first place.
