was thinking of trying these in my .243 but was wondering about barrel wear with such high velocitys ?

Keep your barrel cool and you shouldn't have too much of a problem. 8)

With Winchester 760 and H414 I was able to break 4000 fps from a 22" savage 11F. Like JD said keep it cool!

My mom has a ruger mkII, S/S in .243 w/22". I shoot the 55's exclusively out of it with H-380, or IMR-4064. Velocities are 4100fps for both loads. They are quite the barrel cooker. Dont let it get to hot. They dont leave exits on coyotes, but if you wanna see some rabbits or ground squirrels vaporize, this is for you!!

POP,

What is your load for the 55bt. i have a 22 inch savage myself. I have been using 60g sierras with w760. I haven't had the time to work it up very well as I am working on 2 other rifles as well but I have had 9 out of 10 inside of 1 inch about as fast as I could get on it.

I used the max from them on H414 and somewhere around there for Win 760 (very SIMILAR--not identical burning rate).
