Is this load safe?
I have not loaded for 6mm xc before, and load data is hard to find using scandinavian powder.

Got some Berger VLD hunting 105 grains bullets.
Norma list load data: 36-37.6 grains norma 203b col 67mm
I loaded some: col 68.6mm (Max col: 68.83mm)
37 grains norma 203b
41 grains norma 204

This is loaded to be used in a Blaser R8.
Do not want to stress that bolt.

A guy I shoot F-class matches with uses the 6XC with Berger 105 hybrids and H4350. That powder is slightly slower burning than 203b. His load was 38.3 grains of H4350. Norma 204 is right at the same burn rate as 4350, so 41 grains may be a bit much as a starting load. You may be fine if you have worked up to 41 grains without pressure signs, but he found there was quite a bit of throat erosion when he pushed the loads. He uses Norma 6XC brass, so there wasn't any fire forming that needed to be done. VV540 as well as VV150 may be other options to try.

The other thing to consider is what the temperatures will be when you build this load versus when it will actually be used, especially if you are close to the ragged edge. I usually have to back off my loads in July and August by 3-4 tenths of a grain from loads that are used in the spring (still cold and snow on the ground in Minnesota).

Good luck, I really hope to own a R8 some day (y).

Berger has loading data for the 6XC for their 105gr/108gr VLD target/hunting bullets.

Start load 38gr/N204 @ 2747fps, Max load 42.4gr/N205 @ 3061gr

They has another load using VihtaVuori N540

Start load 33.5gr/N540 @ 2645fps, Max 37gr/N540 @ 2857fps

Hope that helps

Thank you.

Have to bye some Norma URP/RL17 and reload the cartridge with 37.5 and 37 grains norma 203b.

Have to create a load for Nosler AccuBond 90 grains. Must have huntingbullet for fox and beaver.

Thank you for load data.
I scratched the 203b load and used norma URP.
Made a load ladder:
38.5 grains V0= 825m/s
39 grains V0= 833m/s
39.5 grains V0= 870 ( 871,869.7, 869.7)
No pressure at all. Have to trye 40 and 40.5 grains)
Normas diamond line (105 VLD target, molly) V0= 872-875m/s

Same col; 68.6mm (max 68.82mm)

38.5 grains
