I see hornady now has a 123gr sst .310.. Anyone try this yet. I want to try it with RL 7 as many people have told me it works great in their AK

I no longer have an AK but if I were hunting deer with one I would use it.

For target practice I would use the mil stuff.

In 2004, took my SKS and made a 50 yard shot on a doe and she ran about ten yards and just fell to the ground. That cartridge will kill deer just fine.

I've been playing with the 125gr BT's in mine, but they are a .308 bullet.
I think a .310 bullet might work a little better, so I'm inclined to try them. They should work well for deer and other varmits of similar weight.

How about the 123 grn from barnes, I have loaded it in a 303 Brit and man it explode 4 lts jugs like it was a varmit grenade. 8)

Gm weatherby man; which barnes bullet are you refering to, the RRLP, The M/LE, or the TSX. All three are .310 bullets from Barnes.

Me too. that is why I want to try hornday's SST. IMO barnes TTSX is the best bullet you can get
