Well I decided to try H1000 and RL25 with the 160 AB. Retumbo has only given 1 group out of bout 10 under MOA so I don't think rifle cares much for it.

Tried 2 loads with H1000 and RL25...H1000 at 89g and 91g, and RL25 at 88g and 90g. I kept the length at 3.650" as I feel this is where its showing decent sign of wanting to shoot there.

First load I tried was 89g H1000, it put first 2 on top each other and 3rd was bullet hole away making for 5/8" group! Best group I've got from it so far, and with first load tried with H1000.

Next load tried was 88g of RL25. It did 2 almost touching and threw one 1/2" out making for 7/8" group, still not bad, as good as best group I've gotten with several retumbo loads tried, again this was first load with RL25.

Went back to H1000 at 91g. It did a 1 1/8" triangle and was very very warm...

Ran out of daylight to shoot the last load of 90g RL25.

I'm thinking H1000 around 89g is gonna be ticket tho. Little more tweaking should be 1/2 sub 1/2 moa with 160 ABs.

No idea on velocity yet. Traded my crony for an angle cosine indicator. Ill get em cronied soon tho, next time or 2 out.

Now its time to get serious with the 162 AMAX!!!

Mile.....here we come :)

Jorey,

Way to work it buddy. I never got around to H1000 or RL 25 in the 7 RUM because I found a good load with Retumbo. The 160 gr AB is 3300+ fps.
Good luck with the mile shoot, that is going to be fun!

Just got my Sendero back in 7mm rum from the doctor, she got a customized sporter break! Can't wait to start pumping Retumbo and Accubonds down the pipe!! :p

I've never gotten Retumbo to shoot well in any cartridge. I shoot RL25 in my 7RUM with the Sierra 175 Matchking. I really want to get some of the 180 Matchkings, .660 BC!

Sounds like your doing very well. If it was me with a 5/8 group with the H-1000 I would probably quit. Thats a great workup already. I am guessing that the magazine length will not let you closer to the lands.
