Same in Australia. I suspect no one is actually importing Alliant Powders and hasn’t since midway through the pandemic. Our choice in powders at the moment is incredibly limited but what we do have is a generally good supply of adi manufactured stuff which is not so bad. ADI being varget, h4350, h4813, H1000 etc

RL17 is hard to beat in the 7mm-08 using 140 class bullets , fast and accurate . 24"bbl , 140 Berger VLD-h , 3080 FPS .5 MOA out to 1000 yards . that's the farthest I've shot it .

yes , for sure the RL powders are tough to find . right now I have plenty of RL17 . I use RL33 in my 338 . I couldn't find it . I found 8 pound jug of RL50 and bought it . it will work . a little more velocity than RL33 , but the case fill % is going to be higher than I care for . the very next day I found V V N570 . it will work , and should give a little more velocity than the RL powders , with a slightly lower case fill than RL33. I've wanted to try N570 , but couldn't find it . when I found it with no limit , and an extremely high hazmat / shipping fee , I bought a bunch of it to spread out the fee . I'll be burning N570 into my next barrel .

RL33 is the ideal powder for my 338L and 30-378 , but as you mention it had become extinct. I do have a jug of N570 that I’ve been using in my 257 and 416 Wbys with 100gr TTSX and 500gr A-tip.

I am about to build a 7mm08. A 243 is being sacrificed, don’t need two of them. Actually don’t need a 7mm08 either but am really looking forward to playing with it. I have a few hundred 139SST’s and was tossing up between Varget and H4350

Varget ('08) is my go to for my 7-08. I'm kinda wondering what to do with 243 as I just don't shoot it. Not that it's not capable, it is. I just find myself using my 7-08 much more. If I didn't have so many 6mm projectiles then I would let my 243 go. You'll love the 7mm-08

I thought I loved my .243, and then I got a 7mm-08...lol. The one job the .243 does better and really well is varmint duty with 55gr bullets at 4000fps+! The 7mm-08 doesn't play that game.

Agreed. I'd use my 223 if I was shooting 55gn'ers. All my 243 ammo is loaded with 90's. Mind you I'll give some thought to perhaps using it as a varmint rifle for those longer ranges where I will want a thump that the 223 can't dish out. Thanks for the idea.
