Just starting to load some 180 grain BTs and 200 grain Accubonds for the 8 mag.
Hoping to use them on deer if I get a chance.
Anybody care to offer some advice on where to start to shorten the learning curve with these?

I wish I could offer some help for those 2 bullets. All I ran in my 8mm mag was 200 TSX and 220 Hornady bullets. I do know both bullets were quite fond of RL22 as far as accuracy and speed were concerned.

I was figuring you'd have some good advice for him Bill. Bet 7828 would work nicely as well.

Retumbo would be another good powder to try, at least with the heavy weight bullets.

Scotty you are correct 7828 is a good powder for the 8mm mag. I got great accuracy with 7828 but did not see the speed at the accuracy nodes.
