So in 2 weeks it's the 8-th Anniversary of the D-Day landings when so many gave their lives to free Europe. A lot has begun to happen in Normandy now & I know it will be packed there with many American's, British, French, German and other nationalities. I have friends there very near Utah Beach who are involved & have hosted many veterans & their families. They will do so again this special year. If you've never been, it's well worth the trip.
I've attached some photos - I was there in late January this year visiting my friends.
D-Day, 6th June 1944 should never be forgotten & the military cemetary's there are a sight to behold.
The parachute of John Steele who got stuck on the church is remembered with a parachute & manikin to this day - he later married a local lady & died there a few years ago.
