Loaded up a few E-Tips for the Ruger Stainless Hawkeye and got enough break in the weather to fire off a few.
Gave the bore a scrubbing with Butch's Bore Shine prior to shooting.
This is a new load and I seated these out a bit further than I have been seating the E-Tips previously. Also a bigger dose of IMR4831.

Was pleasantly surprised to put the first one just below the little dot.
The next two went to the left of the dot for 1.25" c to c.
Spread the last two to the right.
All in all I'm not disappointed with this trial. Just some more work to do.

Yes, that is encouraging. What sort of jump to the lands have you allowed?

I'm not sure. The info I got when I measured appears to be pushing it but is hard to believe as most of the factory rifles I have measured give extra room over the max standard OAL.
I'll have to remeasure it as I might have messed up the first time.

I've got some sub 1" groups with this rifle but not as often as I hoped.
The first three at 1.25" is encouraging for the first try with a freshly scrubbed barrel. Especially the first shot because out her where it rains all of the time I like to at least like to run a few patches with some cleaner down the barrel after it gets wet.

Well, 1.25 inches is Minute of Whitetail waaaaay out there. If it reproduces, it will definitely work for you. I do like the E-Tip in those cartridges in which I've used it. Have to believe it will work very well for you.

The e-tip has worked well for me in the 280.
