90 gr. E-tip - 100 gr. PT @ 400 yards

Nice test! Those are some good looking bullets. That looks like some great elk country as well.

Fotis,

Looks like Detroit. A target rich enviroment.....

What an awful and ugly place you live in! Have you ever considered moving to somewhere "beautiful"? I don't know how you put up with such horrible scenery.

Great test though!

Horrible isn't it Todd! It was pretty funny the first evening. I was laying in the camper about 9:00 PM reading and there had been some cattle nearby feeding on the FS land. I guessed about 50 head. At about 10:00 PM I had the window on the camper slid open and hear this loud sucking sound and heard cows outside. I pulled the shade back and there was a cow with her nose up to the screen sucking in and trying to smell what was going on inside and what was inside. I hollered at them from the window and they backed off and came right back. I was completely surrounded. Pretty soon I had one or two rubbing on the camper, I mean why not, it makes a great scratching post! I finally got up and went outside and chased them off a ways. A few minutes later they were back hanging out near the camper and my pickup thinking they might get fed something. About 10 minutes later they finally wandered off to greener pastures and left me alone the rest of the night.

Thanks Jake. I wish I would have had more of the gallon water jugs so comparisons for penetration and such would be straight across the board. Hopefully soon though I'll get to try them at 400 and 500 and maybe catch some too! Then I'll be done. I think I'll have a pretty good data base for the AccuBond, Partition, and the E-tip. The 90 gr. Accubonds I shot with that one load with H100V was close enough to my sight-in with my 100 gr. Partition that I should be able to shoot them into jugs w/o too much trouble as they hit just about the exact same place at 100 yards. I want to catch them at 400 and 500 along with all the others. That includes the 165 gr. AccuBond in my 30-06.

Be pretty interesting to see what the 165 out of your 30-06 looks like at 400. Seems like it might be a really nice looking mushroom..

What about your boy's 300WSM with the 180 AB! Are you leaving that out of the expansion tests? Be nice to see what that does at 400. I am thinking it might be my Idaho Elk rifle this year.

You are killing me here. I know...........I need to work on it some more to get the perfect load. The one we have shoots well enough, but I want more speed! Did you not see how that AccuBond worked in the real thing mister? :p I know it was only 90 yards, but broke ribs going in, really whacked the back-bone, and took out the off-side shoulder. What more do you want! Okay 400 and 500 yards coming up sir. Hopefully soon.

Maybe by next week sometime I can have Accubonds, E-tips, and Partitions all tested at 400 and 500 yards, then I will be done! I'll also have some great data and comparisons. Just load ammo. :| A friend says I can come out to his place. I just want to go and make sure where he wants me shooting. He has 400 and 500 laser ranged, just want to check it and make sure I can have a flat place to put gallon water jugs at, and where I can set my target stand so I can shoot some groups also. My wife just had surgery and I'm taking a couple days to stay home with her. Maybe I can slip out and do some shooting if she's feeling better yet be ready to run home if she needs me for anything.

I think you will find the speed and accuracy you are looking for with RL19 David. Seems a few folks at Nosler seem to think it works well and man, my rifle likes it a whole lot as well. At least with 180 AB's at 3030FPS

I might move onto the 200's, but it is nice to have a load ready to go when I get home.
