I'm getting ready to rebarrel my 6X47 (6mm-222 Rem Mag) rifle with a 1:8 twist barrel 20 to 22" long. Max COAL in my rifle is 2.5" and h2o capacity is 34 grains on average of 5 previously fired cases. My goal speed is 2600 fps as long as it's accurate, is this possible?
My current set of Hornady dies overwork the brass so I have to anneal every other load so I'm not opposed to changing cartridges to either 6X45 or 6-204 Ruger. The main reason is .222 Rem Mag brass is getting tough to find and I make it out of .204 from time to time with varying degrees of success. So am I living in a fantasy world or is it a real possibility?
Thanks!
