I recently tried a new load in my old 99 EG (24") barrel. 39 grs of AA 2520 with the 150 grain Nosler Ballistic Tip. My friend Andy shot a hole in the dead center of my chronograph a year or so back and I have yet to replace it...anyone have any idea the speed it may be going? I was guessing around 2500-2550 fps.

Its very accurate though I feel I could go up to 40 or 41 grains if I wanted to stretch her legs...which I dont really. Just curious.

FJM, I'm using Hornady brass, CCIBR2's and the 150 SST also. I'm using 41 grains of AA2520 and getting 2675 out of my 24" barreled M99. Accuracy seems to be real good as well, at least with the peep sights on it. Might break down and put an old 4X Leupold on it to hunt with though. It's a sweet rig, and I think the 150 SST should act real good at those speeds. What a fun rifle to shoot though.

QL projects this to be a relatively mild load.

I think so Mike. I figure the 300 made a good name for itself with a plain bullet around that speed. A Nosler on top is just that much better nowadays.
