Just read a warning concerning using accubonds in my .358 win. model 88. The warning said that the 225 gr. AccuBond have an over all length longer than SAMMI specs. Is this true? Can I use this bullet in the .358?

Only your rifle can tell you that. Specs can vary a little from rifle to rifle.

Where did you read that report. Are you refering to the OAL of a loaded case or just the length of the bullet itself. The OAL length of a loaded round will be controled ny your mag box length and/or the distance to the lands. I didn't know that SAAMI had specs on the length of a bullet. Maybe one of the Noslers will shed some light on this.Rick.

Are you into PAIN!! I have a 57' Model 88 in .308 win and where it shoots great, it recoils!

I have had this rifle for the better part of 30 years and will never part with it...but to reply to your question...you shouldn't have a problem, since the Model 88 is essentially a lever actuated bolt action the magazine and feed are almost dimensionally identical to a bolt action. I love the 150 AB in mine, even though I tend to shoot the .260 more these days.

I adored my 88 but for a lever it was heavy. Anyway update us please.
