To make it easy I am looking for the differences of the above metioned bullets. They are all 7mm 140 grain bullets and loaded in a 7mm-08. What I am looking for is how they peform on Deer and Bear. such as expanison. I have shot them all and my rifle is accurate with all three. It is a matter of picking the right bullet to hunt with, they all look the same when I am punching paper with them.
Thanks

Bert304,

The only difference between the BT and CT is the color of the polycarbonate tip and the Lubalox coating of the CT. Nosler makes the CT bullet for Winchester.
The AB is a bonded core version of the BT/CT bullet which will retain more weight and penetrate deeper than the BT/CT.
For deer hunting, the 7mm-08 with a 140 gr BT will be more than enough to get the job done. I have taken several WT deer and a couple of caribou using the 140 gr BT in my 280 Rem. With the exceptionof 1 deer, I have always gotten an exit wound about the size of a quarter.
If you are also going to hunt bear, the AB might be a better choice for breaking bones and getting into the vitals.
The AB would actually be a do all bullet for your 7mm-08.

I have hunted WT deer with both the CT and the BT and have always got an exit hole of 2-3". I shot a fat doe last year that had been attacked by coyotes all of which are dead aswell. The shot was from 190 yards across a feild. The animal was facing straight away the bullet enter about three inches below the tail, and exited the center of the chest with an exit hole big enough to stick your fist in. The gun was a Ruger .270 Win with 130gr Combined Technology Ballistic Silvertips. The deer never kicked. :) 8) 8) 8) :)

Was that a factory load, or a hand load?

I can't comment on the CT's because i haven't shot that one. I've shot both the BT and the Accubonds in my 30.06 and 25.06. IMO the ballistic tips are good but the accubonds are great and thats what i now shoot in all my hunting rifles. They are extremely accurate and their performance on game has been excellent. I've never shot a bear and i know they are tougher than a deer but i wouldn't hesitate to shoot one with the AccuBond after seeing it's performance on deer. Pencil size hole going in, hole a little bigger than a nickel coming out with a large wound channel and massive tissue damage. I've yet to recover an AccuBond from the 6 deer i've shot with it. Closest shot was 50yds and the longest was 268yds.

Guybo,I just started loading the 150gr accubonds in 06,the most accurate load ever, haven't shot deer with them yet but hope to this season.Glad to hear they do well for you.

As for the CTs by Nosler....they're TOPS as are all other of their makes as well! I recently made me up a .338 Win Mag on a M70 action using a Douglas #5 contour barrel and I've been shooting the 200 gr. CT bullet quite a bit! The rifle and cartridge with the CT is one of the most accurate rifles I've ever owned delivering consistently 5 shot groups at 200 yds. of 1 1/2"...and sometimes better....depending upon what kind of day I'm having! I'm loadin this 'dude' with 75.5 grs. RL-19 using a F215M primer. Haven't had a chance to run it through the chrono yet as I'm still drying out from 17" of rain we got one 13 hour period a few days back! But I expect to get somewhere in the neighborhood of 2950-3000 fps with this 26" tube I've got on! I caught a 'coy dog' running across a field near my range last week and right off the bat he kicked in his afterburner! I just let him run! Shortly....he started looking back over his shoulder and I knew....."Yep....he's gettin tired and curious and will stop soon!" Sure enough....he came to a halt at around 400 yds. and when the 200 gr. CT caught him amidship....it sounded like you'd slapped a 500# fatman in the arse with a boat paddle! I'm gonna love this rifle...I do believe! My next endeavor is to test some ABs and see how they do! My expectations are HIGH!!
