ACOG similar optic for AR

I have a buddy in the 'Guard who has an AR and is in the market for a scope similar to an ACOG for it. He wants something with some sort of bullet drop compensation, and with some magnification. An ACOG is out of his price range, as he wants to spend under $400.

I found this and think it may do the job:

That Burris looks pretty nice, but there are also the MK AR scopes that are around your buddies price range as well. The VXR is pretty nice, but doesn't have much in the way of dialing. Nikon's lower powered AR scopes are pretty decent as well.

I second the Mark AR scope. Those things are pretty nice and tough and they now come with lots of options.

Another vote for the Leupold AR scopes. Got a chance yesterday to check one out. Clear glass and low profile turrents on the 3-9 AR scope.

one of the guys on our hunting lease runs the Burris 3x on his 6.8 for hog hunting..
he's not had any issues with it
