Advise please

Hi all

I accidently mixed H4831 and H4831SC together. Can I use it or should I discard it?

You are perfectly safe. No worries. Same powder, just SC is shorter cut. Shoot and be happy!

I'd throw it on the lawn myself..Different lots.Mixing gunpowder is never a good idea..

It is supposed to burn identically according to Hodgdons. Whenever I start to get to the bottom of one of my specific powders I pour it into the next new bottle (of the same kind of course) and mix it up. My moa loads are very consistent.

I've loaded loads with both powders because I ran out of the SC. Even though I didn't mix the powders the results in velocity and point of impact were unchanged. You should be fine.

One time I mixed 2 lots of powder to work up a hunting load at the last minute. I didn't blow up. But, the problem was those were the best loads that ever shot in that rifle. I could never duplicate them with another lot of powder. That sucked!
