That is a sho' 'nuff handsome bull; and taken with stick and string is no minor accomplishment. I need to dig out my crossbow this fall and see about tagging a deer. Blkram would be amused to witness that. I missed the first time I attempted to arrow a mulie buck. 'Course, he had to borrow my 325 WSM when he wounded a nice whitetail that same fall. My, my, my, the stories we could tell on that boy.

I am the newbie here today. I have been hunting for at least 25 years. I only hunt whitetail deer with the biggest being 130 lb 8 pointer that has an 18" spread (taken back in 1996). I was taught to shoot a Remington 12 gauge, then I went to a Thompson Center .50 cal Hawken muzzleloader, then to a Remington Model 700 in 243. After the 243, I bought a Browning Abolt White Gold Medallion in 270 and mounted a Leupold Vari X-III 3 - 9 X 50 scope on top. In the coming years (after the wife and I have paid off all our debt), I am planning on getting a Nosler M48 Patriot in 260 caliber. My brother and I have been reloading loads for all of our rifles for the last two years.

I have been married for 6 years. My wife is from Indianapolis, and her mother is one those who do not like guns. My wife also did not care for them when we got married, but being around them and actually shooting them she has now asked for me to buy her a revolver. One gun is where it starts, and within a few years she will probably be asking for her own rifle (at least I can dream of that day IF it ever happens, LOL).

Give it time; your good lady may well enjoy shooting. My wife has no interest in hunting, but she does enjoy shooting paper. The best part is that she doesn't oppose me shooting and traipsing through the woods.

Hello,

I have been reading this forum for awhile and decided to join.

I hunt , fish and spend a lot time camping in the middle of no wear.

Welcome!
Also a hearty welcome to those that have joined since I was last in this thread. It appears that we have a nice cross section of the country represented as well as a few localities not of my home country. I like that as it gives a view of a more global nature.
Take care, welcome, and God bless.

Vince

345 kv,

Welcome aboard; glad you have chosen to join us. Maybe I can prevail upon you to give us a little more of an introduction. What sort of hunts do you enjoy? Are you using rifle, handgun or bow? Again, welcome aboard. Trust you find a great group of people posting here.

Howdy, I've been a hand loader since 1976. I started out loading 30/06 for a 1903. I've lived in Texas, Colorado, Alaska and Virginia. I use to go to South Dakota for pheasants back in the 90's. Which I really miss. I'm 60 now and worn out. Rode bikes for 45 years. I'm on a walker now but I still shoot handguns and rifles ever week. It just takes a little longer but I still push myself to go. I have a Remington 35 Whelen Classic I bought when they first came out.

Neat name. Billy Dixon the sharp shooter at Adobe Walls? Welcome aboard. Worn out, are you? There's a lot of that going around. Seems to have caught up to me recently. I've come to the conclusion there is a general recall on the '47 models. If you have a Whelen, you're definitely in good company around here. There seems to be a sort of mutual admiration society that has formed in recent years. We do appreciate shooters and hunters around here. Your insight will be an encouragement to others, no doubt. Again, welcome aboard. I look forward to getting to know you better.

Cool name!
If I didn't shoot the .338 Win Mag I'd have my 30-06 rebored to .35 Whelen. That and the fact that as a 30-06 is a honest half minute of angle rifle makes me hesitant to touch it.
As for bikes I'm assuming the kind with a motor. [emoji6]
Welcome to the best place on the Al Gore invention. :)

Hello everyone! My name is Jesse and I'm from eastern Washington. I'm 22 yrs old and have been reloading since my grandpa taught me at the age of 13. I love hunting, fishing, shooting and reloading! So that is how I spend most of my time! This forum seems to be a great resource so hopefully I can glean some info and maybe even share some of my experiences!

Welcome aboard, Jesse. Always great to see new members joining in the discussions. You're in a great area. There are quite a few people from east of the Cascades that post here on a regular basis. Again, welcome aboard.

Hello. Glad to be here. My name is Mark. I live in Western Washington State. Love everything guns and hunting. I hunt deer in Eastern and Western Washington. Elk on both sides too, (prefer Rosies on the wet side though). Lurked here for a bit and like the quality of the people here. My newest acquisition is an as new BLR .358 Win. Looking forward to getting it loaded for with some partitions.

Welcome aboard, Mark. The BLR chambered in .358 is one sweet rifle. The cartridge works very well at reasonable ranges. We look forward to getting to know you better as you join in posting.
