I was told today that my 9.3 X 64 is almost done. It was test fired. All it lacks is the extractor groove. Could it be that it could draw blood this fall? if not, then it will for certain be pegged for bear next spring. Also, the 35 Whelen upgrade is almost complete. Wow! I awash in possibilities.

Nice Mike! I'm very excited to here about your 9.3 for obvious reasons. Between that and your Whelen you really have a dynamic pair of rifles coming. Hope you get to use them this Fall. Scotty

Mike,

Your 9.3x64 is going to be a hammer. I hope you can get it in on a hunt yet this fall.
What bullets are you thinking of using?

Jim,

I have accumulated quite a supply of 9.3 bullets (TSX, A Frames, Woodleigh and of course, Nosler). I intend to focus on the 286 and 250 grain Partition first. I'll probably lean toward the 250 grain PT as it will give me some excellent velocities allowing for some reach.

Another exotic caliber enters the arena. Congrats on the build. The 9.3 is an eyecatcher and gets a lot of page time from writers who know about exotic calibers and hunting like Boddington. I'm going to be watching this one with great interest.

It'll be fun, if for no other reason than there aren't a ton of these around this country. It will be an excellent moose/grizzly rifle.

That 9.3 ought to be a serious hammer! Mr. Grizz will be sorry if he messes with your moose kill.

Can you get commercially loaded ammo for it in British Columbia? Looks like Nosler makes some good 9.3mm bullets for handloading.

Get 'em!

No commercial ammunition readily available in Canada. However, I have a good stock of bullets, including a good selection of Nosler 250 grain and 286 grain hammers.

My buddy Tim had one in a CZ. With Reloader 15 and th AB it was a one-holer.

It really was a hammer.

Thanks, Fotis. ReLoder 15 is certainly one of the first powders that I intend to explore; and the 250 AB is among the first bullets that will receive attention.
